As I listed previously, you get 5 spaces in ClickUp’s free plan and you get unlimited projects, which is a space equivalent in ProdGoal.

Both ClickUp and ProdGoal offer templates to build your projects with. You can also use individual features to customize it further.

Board views are similar in both tools. You can create an unlimited number of boards in ProdGoal and ClickUp. They are very flexible so you can organize and fine-tune your workflow very easily.

In both tools you can create unlimited tasks. And you can organize them by type. ProdGoal has types and ClickUp has tags.

Both are color-coded to make communication easier. You can create as many item types or tags as you need. But an additional feature that ProdGoal has and ClickUp doesn’t is item type categories. A sort of dependency for item types.

There is also a blocker flagging feature available to easily communicate whether a task is blocked or not. In ProdGoal that feature is turned on from the item’s options menu, while ClickUp has a more complicated approach. More will be said on that later.

Regarding assignees, you can assign any number of members who are working on the task. There is also an hourglass icon on the item that displays the total time the item spent in the “To Do” category and by clicking on it it shows the time a task has spent in each of the statuses.

Items also have attachment features. ClickUp offers up to 100 MB of storage space in its free plan, while ProdGoal offers 5 MB of internal storage, but if you connect your Google Drive, it allows you to have unlimited storage space.

There is no limit on users in both of the tools, but there is a catch in ClickUp. Guests that the user invites to the project must be given full access. In other words, you can’t set permissions for users that enter your space. In ProdGoal you have full control over the invited user’s permissions.

As already stated, ProdGoal gives 5MB storage space initially, but you can connect to your Google Drive and have its storage space at your disposal. ClickUp offers in its free plan 100 MB of storage.

Among all the features, ProdGoal offers a Next-gen Roadmap. It is a highly customizable and flexible roadmap that is easy to set up.

The columns and rows in the roadmap can be collapsed so you can hide the ones you don’t need and focus on the important ones instead.

There is also an option to set WIP limits, both low and high on the roadmap columns. The limits are displayed on the top of the column and tell you when you are close to or over the limit.

The rich-text editor is there to better describe by formatting the text or inserting the image.

Board items can be connected to and then displayed on a roadmap card as a list. They are sorted by their respective statuses and how many there are in each status.

Prodgoal groups are a separate view where the items are listed. This is a little different feature than what ClickUp has to offer. Groups are an unlimited feature too, but the key takeaway is that the groups automatically estimate when the tasks in it will be done. It does that based on previous finished tasks, and it does so more accurately the more tasks are being done.

Items in the group list have an option to be connected to a roadmap card. It is an additional item feature available in the group view.
